SEASONS CHANGE: Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
October 2, 2026
Life is made up of constantly changing seasons, some of which we desire to last forever. Others, the struggle and depth of pain are so overwhelming that we are hardly able to keep standing, and for these, we want them over quickly, and often we question if God is really there. Solomon wrote about the different seasons we all will face in life—birth, death, planting, harvesting, killing (metaphorically, of course), healing, tearing down (emotional wastes), building up (breaking out, breaking forth, emergence), weeping (times of sadness), laughing, mourning (grief), rejoicing, gathering ideas (stones), casting ideas away (stones), embracing others, walking alone, seeking after/longing desperately for closeness with the Father, wandering away from seeking (allowing circumstances/life to get in the way). A time to keep (hedge about/protect/guard), a time to release what we are protecting (cast away), allowing the Holy Spirit to cut away/tear out obstacles that keep us from being all God has created and called us to be, allowing the Holy Spirit to mend (sew) the ragged edges. A time to remain quiet and a time to speak boldly what God has commanded us to speak. A time for love (in relationships) and hate for the enemy/hating what God hates. These two usually reside perpetually together. We love our families and hate the enemy of our souls. Finally, there is a time to battle (operate in active warfare) and a time for peace (rest and recuperation in the Holy Spirit).
As the seasons change, you may be facing seasons in your life you are not prepared for, don’t understand, and are completely overwhelmed by. We are here for you. You are not alone. Please reach out to info@wftwi.org, and someone will respond.
Blessings and Peace
