GREAT IS THY FAITHFULNESS

Song for today: "Great is Thy Faithfulness"
Lamentations 3:22-23 ESV
"The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."
As we navigate life and everything life, people, and Satan throw at us, it is easy to forget that God never changes. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Hebrews 13:8) And while we may feel as though we are facing these challenging circumstances and situations alone, nothing can separate us from the love, care, compassion, and will to act on our behalf of God in Christ Jesus. (Romans 8:38-39 paraphrase mine) He truly is a friend that sticks closer than a brother (Proverbs 18:24) and is closer now than when we first believed. (Romans 13:11) The question is: who/what are we going to believe? Are we going to believe what God tells us about His faithfulness, or are we going to believe what our circumstances, life, people, and Satan tell us? Will we trust Him even though every physical thing in our lives tells us something different? Are we going to trust what we see, or are we going to walk out: "Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen." (Hebrews 11:1 ESV)? As Jesus said when the ruler of the Synagogue's daughter died, I will say to you: "Do not fear, only believe." (Mark 5:35-36)
Father, we fall on our faces this morning, seeking your face. You know what we are going through. You know how we feel and what things look like to us. Lord, we can only see a small corner of the picture. You see the whole painting. Help us to place all our trust in you. Help us to build ourselves up on our most holy faith. Help us to understand your character. Help us not to be afraid, but to believe. Lord, help us today to cry out: "What things look like is not the vision. Lord I believe you!" Father, I ask you to bless each one reading this. Holy Spirit, minister to them as only you can. Encourage them in you. Lord, help each reader to know you as they never have before. Increase their faith, Lord. And Lord, I thank you now for meeting every need. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
In Christ,
Pastor Trish.
